Behind the Scenes at Clune & Company III

Clune & Company is pleased to have their own Golden Girls in the form of Diana Barnes and Amy Holsapple, who refer to themselves as Blanche and Dorothy respectively. The camaraderie that was evident on the TV Series by their name sakes is also enjoyed by Diana and Amy.

Among many similarities, these two employees share the same birthday, they both started their stints at Clune within a month of each other in the spring of 1996, and the two hail from the same state: Nebraska. However, they hold different positions here at Clune.

Amy currently fills the role of Senior Controller/Accountant, but has worn other hats, including Lending and Collections. Amy is very proficient in our systems software, enabling her to oversee the payment of Vendor invoices and crediting lease payment receivables. She is the primary liaison to the Auditing team and our Accountant Group, providing required reports and accurate financial statements.

Diana's expertise in MS Word, document design, and Web Site technology all form the basis of her duties of managing all new lease contracts, the UCC filings and terminations, our CHAX-Checks by Fax process, and refreshing the Clune web site. Since Diana is also cross trained in the some of the daily accounting duties, this results in her office being one of the busiest here at Clune.

Amy boasts previous career experiences as a Waitress, Teacher, Lender, and Corporate Secretary of Dean Machinery. She was the only student in her class in the one room country school in Humboldt, Nebraska and earned her college degree at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Her education continued with classes at Johnson County Community College, and she recently completed The Certified Lease Professional Course, earning her CLP status, which is held by only about 200 leasing professionals in the country.

With this resume, one may wonder how she had time to marry, have a family, and enjoy many hobbies. She and her husband, Ron, have two children, and one grandchild, who Amy enjoys spoiling. The Holsapple family also loves the outdoors and have seen the States, especially Kansas and Missouri, traveling by camper. While at home, her activities include gardening, reading, and community activities including Chairman of her homes association and a volunteer victim for the fire department of Overland Park. However, with one visit to Amy's office, one realizes she has not forgotten her State of origin, as she proudly displays her Nebraska Huskers memorabilia.

Diana, on the other hand, has returned to her Midwest roots after a career path that led her to New York and points east. After graduating from the University of Missouri in Springfield, she worked in both outside sales and in management of "Not for Profit Organizations." Her resume also includes a stint in the Erie County of New York Probation Department, working with the Family Court. With her return, Diana states, "[I] came back to my spiritual roots, and it was the best decision I have ever made."

Having lost her Sister and only sibling over 4 years ago after a long and painful struggle with colon cancer, Diana is the sole caretaker of her Mother. Together, they enjoy activities with their extended family in the vicinity, renting movies, and the company of their cat, Jacqueline, who coincidentally was rescued from the office parking lot. Diana also volunteers with a Christian ministry as a facilitator for a seminar, which occupies 4 weekends and 14 days annually.

Both of these women shoulder many additional responsibilities that aren't even enumerated in this piece, but are integral to the smooth functioning of the office. Their Golden Girls personas provide a comic balance to their professional duties at Clune and their sense of humor brings a light hearted dimension to the entire staff.

Amy and Diana are truly "Golden" in the eyes of their co-workers. Nebraska must be proud of these two very talented and capable native daughters, and we are fortunate to have such vital members of the Clune & Company team.
