Profile
Kevin Clune grew up learning the ins and outs of business leasing. He worked for his father for over 19 years first learning the business then earning the title of vice president and eventually president. After a planned retirement and buy out of Robert Clune in 1992, Kevin took over the business as owner and chairman. Today Clune & Company celebrates 50 years in business - earning them the designation as one of the oldest national leasing firms and ranking them among the top 10% in number of contracts.
Clune & Company entered the leasing arena by offering business leases to small firm who needed equipment to compete in the marketplace but didn't have a large bank line of credit or who didn't want to deplete capital reserves. Today Clune employees 10 people, including a full-time sales representative and continues to serve small to mid-size firms, leasing them everything from earth movers to computer systems.
Clune has differentiated their business in the marketplace by regulating themselves in an unregulated industry. As leasing isn't governed by any agency or association, leasing is an industry where caveat emptor is the ruling philology. Clune offers innovative leasing products, none of which include hidden fees or lease-end surprises. Striving for a high rate of repeat business, not only are Clune leases well designed, Clune employs experienced lease service agents - many of whom have been with Clune over 12 years. Clune also believes in the human touch and every phone call into Clune is answered by a live person and not an automated system. Each employee also has a direct phone number so clients have direct access to the people they need, making business calls efficient.
Offering innovative products, including those that allow equipment resellers to own equipment at lease end, is how Kevin Clune has grown his business. This unique product offering along with excellent service has made Clune an innovative leader in the industry. Kevin has also been successful in identifying and penetrating niche markets including commercial printing (reprographics services), commercial mowers and smaller, owner-operated manufacturers.
Kevin is a member in good standing of the ELFA, Equipment Leasing Association and the UAEL, United Association of Equipment Leasing. Clune supports their industry through membership and contributions to the Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation and offers support to the community at large with contributions and support to
Homes from The Heart, F.I.R.E, St. Peter's School, Bishop's Annual Appeal, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Support our Seminarians, Muscular Dystrophy, Topeka Youth For Christ, St. James Academy, Rockhurst University, Vitae Caring Foundation, DeSaSalle, Community of the Good Shepherd, Bishop Sullivan Center and National Federation of Independent Business
